Mutant Harm Office was founded by Mara H. Ortiz, a
philanthropic businesswoman who grew up translating other people’s crises.
Before she had a title, she had a notebook and a camera, documenting
what happened when ordinary people collided with indifferent systems.
After years inside boardrooms, crisis hotlines, and court hallways,
she saw the same pattern: brilliant humans, terrible choices, no
infrastructure for repair. MHO Solutions was created as a different
kind of office—one where harm isn’t hidden, it’s logged, studied, and
addressed in the open.
Today, a small team of educators, technologists, and documentarians
operates the Mutant Harm Office as a living lab. We don’t sell
perfection. We build practices that make it harder for people to do
harm and easier for them to own what they’ve done.
